Instrumentation Resource Facility (IRF), USC School of Medicine Columbia
This FREE intensive 4-day workshop offers an introduction and hands-on experience with cutting-edge techniques, including:
Microscopy sample preparation and bioprinting
Brightfield and Widefield Microscopy
Confocal Microscopy
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
Lightsheet Microscopy presented by ZEISS Microscopy
The Undergraduate Microscopy Workshop is open to students who
Are rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in a science-related major at USC or an SC INBRE-supported undergraduate institution
Have successfully completed at least 2 lab-based science courses
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Note: Prior research experience recommended but not required
This is a great opportunity for students to collaborate with IRF staff and boost their research knowledge and skills to prepare for academic, industrial, or medical research opportunities.
The completed application and professor recommendation form must be submitted by May 1, 2026.
