Each summer, Costal Carolina University accepts 12 students to conduct biomedical research with four faculty members are awarded a grant to take on research students (each faculty member will have three students working on their project) through their Summer Coastal Research Experience (SCoRE program). One student will serve as a mentor for the project and will have to have experience doing scientific research. The other students (one high school student and high school student/undergraduate student) will work closely with the research faculty member and the undergraduate mentor. The URM high school students who successfully complete the SCoRE program will be offered scholarships, research funds and support to enroll at CCU.
